Maths reflections

The best thing about statistics for my family is that we can gather data on which time of the day is the coolest and when there are not too many people in the park when we are planning to go out on a trip or have some fun at the beach.
When my group were collecting data during the morning, there were many people queueing for the taxis and we had to multitask our job to make the data collected more accurate for the handing up of our work. The temperature at the location was also quite high. This made it difficult for us to concentrate while doing the data collection process in the hot weather. To make the job worse, there were also a few people who called for their taxis and some people who queued up for their friends or family members to pick them up, resulting in a less accurate data collection. Although there were obstacles to overcome, we were able to overcome them because of our teamwork and the working experience that we have had while in the school compound.
The part that we can use statistics for the news is when we are reporting the average PSI in the air in Singapore, estimating the temperature over the last few days, estimating the reports of deaths in a certain area or estimating the number of accidents that had happened on the road.
When statistics is inaccurate, there would be misleading pieces of data that would prevent the correct amount of data to be obtained. Like when there is a country that is prone to receiving tsunamis, if there is a small error in the data that is collected about the tsunamis, there would be a risk that peoples lives would be in danger. This is why data collectors must have accurate data so that there would be no error in the process of the prevention of disasters and the preparation of an event.
